NO VERBAGE, JUST WHAT'S GROWING ON THE FARM
| Right, I'll take care of the ducklings! |

Ducks are an important component in pest control here at the farm. Not to say they can't
be pests themselves on occasion! That said, there is no critter more relentless in rooting out the slugs and snails in the
spring, then the grasshoppers in the summer. We have seen the ducks form a line across the width of the greenhouse and slowly
march (ducks marching? I may be exaggerating here) to the other end, herding the grasshoppers in front of them and feeding
as they go. This may sound grim to some folks. To us, it's one more illustration of elements in a natural
system working in harmony when we don't get in there and muck it up.
